Do you have problems with the patching process after the first app start or update? Click here please!
If you have any problems with connect, please contact us via mail - support@4connect-e.com - or just via Skype - Michael M. Schöggl or Kayneth. We will try to help you immediately!
Please report us problems so that we can fix them. Without your reports, we may be blind for some time or some bugs, so your feedback (preferable via mail or Skype) is very welcome!
We are also working on FAQs right now so that you will find solutions for the most frequent problems on this site soon. Thank you for your patience!
If the patching process doesn't work properly or takes too long, you can easily avoid problems with the patcher by manually downloading the required "AssetBundles" from this page (click on the download button), extracting them and copying them into the correct connect folder: C:\Users\__your_user_name__\AppData\LocalLow\ecom\connect\AssetBundles\master\Standalone.
If the "AppData"-Folder is hidden, follow this steps please: https://bit.ly/2gi4H7F
This way is probably much faster than using our own patcher. If connect still doesn't work after that, you either don't have the latest version (from Steam) or our AssetBundles offered here are outdated. Please write us a mail to support@4connect-e.com, so that we can examine this, and/or help you individually, thank you!
We have developed connect in a way that you actually can’t do anything wrong. Have a go, try it all out. If you can’t find what you are looking for straight away then you will find on this page – or on connect in the menu under “?!”– here are videos on various different topics you may need help with. With time we will supplement these videos with texts in as many languages as possible. If our help topics or FAQs haven’t been of help, then you can always contact us directly with feedback on our contact page or via mail: support@4connect-e.com.
Step 1: Open the browser on your Android smartphone and search for:
https://4connect-e.com/files/downloads/connect.apk
Step 2 (optional): Pull down the notification bar so that you notice, when the download has finished.
Step 3: Click on the downloaded File when the download is complete.
Depending on the settings of your device the following 4 steps may be necessary or not.
- Step a: If the note shown on the picture above appears, click on "Settings".
- Step b: Look for "Unknown sources (Allow installation of apps from unknown sources)" and enable it.
- Step c: When you get asked to agree, click on "OK".
- Step d: Now "Unknown sources" should be enabled.
Close the settings and open the menu.
- Step 4: Search for the app "Downloads" or, if you can't find it (depending on your Android version and device) look for "Files Manager" or "Files" or "My Files" or an app with similar name.
- Step 5 ("Downloads"): Click on "connect.apk" to install it.
- Step 5 ("Files Manager"...): Look for the folder "Download", open it and click on "connect.apk".
- Step 6: You will be asked, if you want to install the app. Confirm with "Install".
- Step 7: When the app is installed, click on "Open" (not "Done"), if you want to open it now.
- Step 8: You have to agree to all permissions, so that connect works as it should. You can also agree to these permissions later, or do without some features of connect, but we promise you not to misuse your trust.
Our explainer video on the help topic "Registration and Account" is coming soon.
This video shows you the most important, first steps in connect.
Standard Mode (2D)
Switch between the different hotspots using swipe gestures. When you have activated "connect Media" in the settings, you can get to the soundplayer and TV too. You can open the settings with pressing the back button on your phone while the app is starting.
If you have activated "connect Home" in the settings, you can also change into the "Free Mode" or "VR Mode". You will find more information in the video of part 2 (swipe to the right).
Free Mode (3D)
Activate: Turn your phone into the landscape format and place your two thumbs in the corners of the lower screen until two virtual controllers appear.
Deactivate: Turn your phone into the portrait format and make a swipe gesture (right or left).
Free Look: Shake your phone in the Free Mode to look around by moving your phone.
VR Mode (VR)
Move both your thumbs in the Free Mode from the left and right screen edges in a pulling motion towards the middle of the screen. You can connect a controller to navigate, here is a list of supported devices. To terminate the VR function, pull the two screen halfs from the inside out again.
